Leah Wellbaum

Leah Wellbaum is a musician, artist, writer, and teacher from Boston, Massachusetts. They earned their BA from Sarah Lawrence College. They are working on their first poetry collection, “The Wrong Bruise.” Wellbaum has released six experimental art books (Blue Pear Projects). Their illustrations have been featured in group shows in the U.S. and Canada. They are the principal songwriter and guitar player of Slothrust, who has sold out headline tours nationally and internationally and performed at Lollapalooza, BottleRock, and Shaky Knees, among others. They are also the guitar specialist at experimental instrument development company, Eternal Research, working with David Lynch’s custom-built five-neck guitar. Wellbaum has been teaching music and creativity practices for nearly two decades. They are devoted to helping others free themselves from creative hang-ups with a curiosity-forward approach. They currently reside in Los Angeles.
