Palmas are a “Surf & Soul” band from Philadelphia and NYC that draws from retro influences such as The Zombies, The Beach Boys, The Mamas and the Papas, and Nancy Sinatra, bringing a classic West Coast sound to the shores of the East Coast. The idea of the group developed in 2013 while Matthew and Adam were on separate coasts – Matthew in L.A. and Adam in Philadelphia. The duo exchanged their favorite surf records with each other: Pet Sounds, Walk Don't Run, Out of Limits and The Endless Summer Soundtrack. In time, close friends Kurt, Eric, and Pat joined into the band as well. From day one, there was no question that Palmas was passionate about music. Currently, all members reside on the East Coast where they write and perform full time.
Following the release of their debut EP, To the Valley, Palmas are back with all new material to be released this Fall, starting with lead single “Flowers.” The new music brings a more mature and experimental sound. “We approached this recording with the goal of challenging ourselves as musicians” says singer Kurt Cain. The band has a busy season ahead of them as they look forward to hitting the road, playing in front of new audiences everywhere.
